100 Tula para kay Bundok Arayat

I write poetry and they don’t rhyme
They don’t have structure that I can call mine
My poetry is a reflection of my inner being
Messy, discompose and out of rhyming

Ok disclaimer, I haven’t climbed Mt. Arayat yet, this is just a reference to the movie entitled – 100 Tula para kay Stella (100 poems for Stella)- which, Mt. Arayat has an important role, it was featured not once but twice and was probably the highlight scene of the movie as well. Anyways, this blog entry may seem irrelevant to my blog’s niche, which is about climbing mountains and other mountain-climbing-related-stuff. But Mt. Arayat was in the movie, I mean come on, that should be reason enough to write about the movie right?… Right? 🙂

Mt. Arayat as seen in the movie “100 Tula para kay Stella”

Truth is, I just want to write something about the movie. – my class reaction paper of the movie so to speak. Here goes…

“Let me start by saying … Wow! I’ve never been this immersed in a freakin’ motion picture, the moment the movie ended, I was convinced that it was made entirely for me; it was like 80 to 90% of it was a direct reflection of my life, for a moment, I even thought I was the director and screenwriter of the film -wholeheartedly made by me. It’s like watching it exactly at the right moment in time…”
The movie tells a story of a genuine love, of how love can hurt and of how love can heal. It’s something that we experience at some point in our lives, something that we can all relate to. Cinematography-wise, there is nothing spectacular about it, it was the story and the characters, if anything, that made the movie one of a kind.

Poem #1: Poetry

I write poetry and they don’t rhyme
They don’t have structure that I can call mine
My poetry is a reflection of my inner being
Messy, discompose and out of rhyming

Poem #2 : Broken

I’m a man whose heart is
broken into pieces
Like a blue whale turned
to tiny fishes
Shuttered
fragmented
scattered

Poem #3: Behold

I am a bouldering Rock
But I was once just a stone
I am Towering Tree
But I was once just a seed
You see, I was crushed once
And now I’m whole again
Behold me

  • I can only do 3 poems not a 100 🙂 … And besides there is a 3-word rule. How many words do I need to say what I have to say anyway? … 3, all I need is 3 🙂
